Scarce promotional map of the City of Detroit, advertising for EC Van Husan Real Estate (219 Hammond Building).
This is apparently the first state of the map--F.B. Streeter also notes an edition of 1894.
Oriented with north toward the upper right. Shows streetcar lines, railroads and ward boundaries
Rarity
The only recorded copy is in the Library of Michigan, (Burton Collection), which includes the following note:
"Compiled and published expressly for R.L. Polk & Co's Detroit directory, 1893."
Library of Michigan copy lacks top 1/3 of sheet. Cataloging based on 1901 map with same title and content. Shows streetcar lines, rail roads, ward boundaries, city limits, fire [ward] boundaries./ Includes street guide./ Cf. Koerner 208./ Cf. Barnett, L. Mich., 5-0746.
RarityLater editions were issued in 1894, 1896, 1898, 1900, 1901, 1905, 1908.
