Siege and Surrender of Milan October 1733 to January 1734

The map shows Milan at the time is was occupied by Charles Emmanuel III. of Savoy, acting as the ally of France and Spain. Charles Emmanuel entered Milan on nth December, 1733, to obtain possession of the Castello after a fourteen days' siege. Then, for the first time since the death of Francesco Sforza, Milan was controlled by an Italian.
Milan remained in Italian hands until 1736, when it was transferred back to Austrian rule.
