Boxer Rebellion-Era Map of Shangdong Province.

Highly detailed map of part of Shandong Province by the Kartographische Abtheilung der Konigl. Preuss. Landes-Aufnahme. The map was prepared in Germany to highlight German interests in China, as the Boxer Rebellion was threatening Western citizens and property in China.

This map was prepared in 1901, with this example being published shortly after the conclusion of hostilities.

The map shows large cities in Shangdong such as Jinan and Tai'an, though the map uses a different transliteration than what is usually seen today.
