Sheelor, originally known for California scenic photography, went to Alaska and the Klondike where he photographed the Gold Rush. He had “the largest circle camera in the world”, with which he took a series of panoramic photographs of the towns of Alaska and the Yukon. All of the photographs in this series are now extremely rare.
