Rare Confederate broadside map related to the Battle of Bull Run, published for the Richmond Enquirer in the aftermath of the battle.

Lithographed or wood-engraved map of northern Virginia, from Washington, D.C. to Warrenton. The map names Alexandria and Arlington.

The map was apparently also published in an edition of the Richmond Enquirer, though this example was one of the separate issues on blue paper (as with the Library of Congress example).

There is a description of the area below the map which includes a number of the important details of the local geography and how they relate to the battles of the 18th and 21st.

Rare in the trade; the last example at auction was Cowan's in 2008, where it sold for $1,610.

Parrish & Willingham 6200 (Huntington, Library of Congress, Emory, Georgia, Illinois, Boston Athenaeum, Duke, North Carolina, South Carolina Historical Society, Museum of the Confederacy, Virginia State Library, Virginia Historical Society).
