Lower sheet of this rare 2 (?) sheet map focusing on the navigable rivers, post roads and geology of Southern Hungary.
The map primarily covers the regions between the Tisza River and Danube River,, to the south of Budapest. The map extends along the Tisza River from Tiszabo in the north to Magyar Kanisa and along the Danube from Tokol (just south of Budapest) to Bata in the south. In the far west, the map reaches Lake Balaton and Kardcag in the east.
The map includes significant detail regarding towns, roads, geology and a host of other details and is cleary a map of tremendous detail.
There is a tremendous amount of information on the preparation of the map, its sources, etc., noting a number of important surveys in the 18th Century.
