The map illustrates the movements of the Spanish and French Armies during the War of Spanish Succession
The title translates as:
Special Map of the Surroundings of Nice, and Ville-Franche, from Ville-neuve in Provence, to Monaco, where we can see the Marche des Armies of France and Spain, their passage of the Var, and the various attacks of the entrenchments of Mont-Alban and Ville-France on April 19, 1744 ".
An explanatory text describes the military progress, the entrance into the city of Nice and the catches of Aspremont, Castel-Novo, etc., with other battle details.
