The map appeared in Darby's A Tour from the City of New-York, to Detroit, in the Michigan Territory, made between the 2d of May and the 22d of September, 1818 ...

William Darby (1775-1854) describes a journey up the Hudson, and across to Buffalo and Detroit. He pictures the sights, geography, and economy of the region. The book is accompanied by two colored maps, the one shown here gives the route (shown in red) and includes the middle Atlantic region from New York to Virginia and west to include most of Missouri.
