Rare Early Dallas Publication

Volume 1, number 1 of this rare Texas promotional newspaper, "Devoted to the Industrial, Immigration and Educational Interests of Texas."

This 16 page promotional work was used to promote emigration to Texas. The present example bears the stamp of Swann Creek, Ohio Land and Emigration Agent Henry H. Hannan.

Includes a large map of Texas at the center and a smaller map showing the lines of the St. Louis and Texas Short Line. The following is taken from the June 1878 edition of The Farmer's Magazine and Kentucky Live-stock Monthly . . .

TEXAS PRODUCTS AND PROGRESS.

We are in receipt of the "Texas Products and Progress," a 16 page quarto, published in Dallas, Texas, and devoted to the agricultural, industrial, educational and immigration interests of that State. This, we believe, is the only journal of the kind published in Texas, exclusively devoted to these interests, and from the number "before us, we think it a valuable journal for persons interested in that State. The next number promises specially interesting articles on Texas and Texas agriculture.—Each number contains a county State map. The price is only $1 00 a year, and each subscriber is promised a copy of "Texas Boiled Down" containing 160 pages, Free.
