Rare separately issued map of Iowa, published in Kiel in a promotional tract, Der Staat Iowa geographisch und statistisch beschrieben von Theodor Olshausen in St. Louis in Staate Missouri . . ., published in 1855.

Olshausen is also known to have written a book on Joseph Smith and the Revelations of Mormonism and the Mormon peregrinations to Navoo, Indepedence, Missouri, and finally Utah, entitled Geschichte der Mormonen Oder Jungsten-tages-heiligen in Nordamerika.

We note that the complete tract is very rare, with the last appearance in a dealer catalog being Nebenzahl, in 1963, and only 4 locations in American institutions. This is the first time we have ever seen the map offered for sale.
