Fine example of Claudio Duchetti's rare view of Jersualem.
Duchetti's fine modern view of Jerusalem shows the City from the West. Laor noted that the view is likely based upon Stefano Du Perac's view of 1570, also published in Rome.
The map is richly annotated, identifying a number of place names and historical points of interest, including Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious landmarks.
The present example includes the imprint of Henricus (Hendrick) van Schoel. A later example was also issued by Giovanni Orlandi in 1602. All editions are very rare.
